Learn to Spin With A Drop Spindle
Drop Spindles were one of the earliest forms of creating threads and yarns for making cloth and clothing. Learn how to draft and create yarn with the park and draft method of winding yarn on the spindle. You'll also get some quality time with our Icelandic sheep!

Intro to Raw Fleece Processing
Learn how we process our raw Icelandic fleece. We'll compare a spring and fall clip from the same sheep and look at the differences and similarities. We will also discuss which fleece is best suited for which type of projects. You will learn about and help to skirt, wash and card the fleece. Click on the link below to register.
Wet Felting - Journal Cover
Learn how to layout an even base of wool to form a book cover, create your own personal surface design with wool and silks, and then wet felt the whole piece into a fabric to cover your journal! Suitable for any skill level. Light refreshments included. Click the link below to register.
Farm to Fashion: Beginner Tapestry Weaving with Roving Textiles
Your day begins where the wool does. Before you touch a loom, you'll tour the farm and meet the Icelandic sheep whose fleece made this workshop possible. Then settle in for an immersive weaving experience. Bring your own lunch for a scenic midday break under the pergola.
You will learn how to:
• Warp your loom to set yourself up for success
• Weaving techniques: tabby weave, rya knots, and soumak
• Incorporate wool roving and mixed textures for depth and dimension
Icelandic Farm Fest (Adult Tickets)
We're celebrating Icelandic National Day and all things Icelandic! Come join us on the farm to see Icelandic Horse demonstrations, meet some Viking sheep, watch and participate in fibre demonstrations, listen to Icelandic music, try some Vinarterta (famous Icelandic Cake!) and other traditional Icelandic food from our food vendors and shop amazing hand-made wooly products from our fibre artist vendors.
Advanced tickets: Adult $23 / kids 5-12 $14 (book under 'KIDS'). Kids under 5 free.

Wet Felting - Vessel Workshop
This class is an intro to wet felting using a resist to form a 3-dimensional object. You will learn how to layer your fibre evenly for uniform shrinkage, and how to know when you have reached a “felt stage” and when to shrink. You will also learn surface design and structure for finishing your felt. Participants will create a unique vessel to take home.
Wet Felting - Full Felted Fleece
Learn how to create a funky artistic wall hanging, rug or chair pad from raw Icelandic fleece. Each person will receive their own full fleece and can choose whether to create one large piece or several smaller ones. This is a fun, physical, wet/messy class so please dress appropriately. Landscape - Needle Felting
This is a beginner needle felting class on how to create a picture with wool. In this workshop you will learn how to layout a base and blend natural colours using a variety of needle felting techniques. You will take home a small framed original piece of art. Click the link below to register.
Learn to Weave an Icelandic Wool Scarf or Shawl
Learn to weave with artist, Cheryl Sheridan of The Barn Studio. You will learn to make a beautiful one-of-a-kind wool scarf or shawl, on a 4-shaft table loom, using our Icelandic wool. No experience necessary! Workshop includes: wool yarn from our Icelandic sheep, use of fully dressed 4 shaft table loom, instruction, handouts, refreshments and time with our sheep! Bring your own lunch & enjoy your time on the farm.
Natural Dyeing With Indigo
Learn how to build an Indigo dye bath and use it to colour our Icelandic yarn. We will prep the fibre, forage for additional natural materials on the farm, build our baths and dye our yarn with a variety of natural indigo based colours that you’ve created.

Open House at L.E. Shore Library
We have been invited to host an open house at the L.E. Shore Library in Thornbury! Drop in for a hands-on, family-friendly experience about our Icelandic “Viking” sheep and their amazing wool. Feel a freshly shorn fleece, and learn how wool goes from pasture to finished products. We will demonstrate carding and felting, and you will get to try a felting activity to make something to take home. All-ages welcome!
